Budtender

Position Overview

The Budtender supports retail dispensary operations by delivering a strong customer experience and helping patients and consumers better understand cannabis products. The role combines customer service, compliant product guidance, payment handling, and day-to-day store support in a professional, welcoming setting.

Key Duties

• Welcome patients and verify check-in details, including status and allotments, through the POS system.
• Provide clear education and recommendations on cannabis products and usage options.
• Help customers choose products quickly while staying within applicable rules and procedures.
• Process sales accurately using point-of-sale software and accept payments.
• Run the cash register, complete closing tasks, reconcile cash, and prepare deposits.
• Keep the store area neat, organized, and presentable for both customers and staff.
• Assist with administrative work, packaging support, restocking, and other operational needs when needed.
• Support compliance-related tasks as part of daily dispensary operations.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
• A Facility Agent Card must be obtainable and maintainable under Arizona state requirements.
• At least 1 year of experience in retail, customer service, or a similar role is preferred.
• Working familiarity with medical cannabis and common consumption methods is expected.
• Knowledge of Arizona cannabis products and purchase limits is important.
• Understanding of state cannabis laws and dispensary compliance processes is required.
• Comfort using POS systems and basic computer software is necessary.
• Strong communication and service-oriented skills are essential.
• Candidates should be reliable, punctual, calm under pressure, and able to thrive in a fast-moving retail environment.
• A cooperative, positive team mindset is required.

Education and Certification

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. No extra certifications are needed.

Physical and Work Conditions

• Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours, is required.
• The role requires lifting and moving items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Manual dexterity and good vision are needed to handle products and operate POS equipment.
• Work takes place in a cannabis retail dispensary.
• Employees may be exposed to strong odors, moderate noise, and ongoing customer interaction.
• Personal protective equipment may be needed depending on the task or department.

• FLSA status: Non-Exempt.
• Department: Retail.
• Location: Moapa, NV.
• Pay rate: $15.00 per hour.
• There are no supervisory responsibilities.
• No travel is required.
