Role Overview
At Diaverum Saudi Arabia, biomedical maintenance is critical to ensuring clinic functionality and patient safety. The Biomedical Technician position involves installing, maintaining, and repairing medical equipment in dialysis clinics to ensure continuous and reliable operation of dialysis machines and water treatment systems, supporting uninterrupted patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installations of new medical devices adhering strictly to manufacturers’ guidelines and approved facility layouts.
- Conduct preventive maintenance as per manufacturer recommendations and Diaverum's preventive maintenance schedules across assigned clinics.
- Respond promptly to service requests, repairing equipment to minimize downtime.
- Keep detailed and timely records of all maintenance activities, installations, repairs, and parts usage.
- Execute emergency repairs, equipment transfers, and disassembly tasks under supervision.
- Offer technical support and coverage for multiple clinic clusters as needed.
- Maintain tools and specialized equipment organized, clean, safe, and functional.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is practical, organized, and self-directed, capable of managing equipment across several clinic locations while knowing when to escalate issues. Important traits include strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, the ability to read technical schematics and wiring diagrams, precise documentation, and clear communication with medical and technical teams. Comfortable with frequent travel, candidates should be ready to dedicate up to 80% of their working time traveling between assigned clinic sites.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Biomedical Engineering.
- At least 3 years of hands-on biomedical engineering experience; prior experience with dialysis-related devices preferred.
- Fluent in both Arabic and English, written and spoken.
- Proven ability to maintain and repair medical equipment including preventive and corrective maintenance in clinical or hospital environments.
- Experience with installation and commissioning of medical devices.
- Documentation skills using helpdesk systems or approved reporting formats.
- Adept at coordinating with clinical staff regarding equipment operations.
Additional Advantages
- Experience with dialysis machines or reverse osmosis water systems.
- Factory-level technical training from established medical equipment manufacturers.
- Knowledge of safety protocols, industry standards, and OSHA regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
