Barista - Specialty Hot Drinks

Position Overview

We are inviting a dedicated and knowledgeable Barista skilled in specialty coffee and hot beverage crafting to join our hospitality team. The successful candidate will expertly prepare and serve a variety of specialty coffees, signature hot drinks, teas, and crafted beverages, maintaining quality, consistency, and exceptional guest interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft and serve specialty coffee and hot beverages adhering to specified recipes and presentation standards.
• Prepare a range of espresso-based drinks such as espresso, Americano, cappuccino, latte, flat white, macchiato, mocha, and other unique beverages.
• Create signature hot drinks including seasonal and innovative recipes.
• Perform high-quality latte art as needed.
• Apply expert knowledge in espresso extraction, milk steaming, texturing, and temperature control.
• Deliver consistent, high-caliber drinks efficiently during busy periods.
• Prepare specialty teas, hot chocolate, chai, matcha, and other non-coffee hot drinks.
• Follow standard recipes, portion controls, preparation methods, and presentation guidelines rigorously.
• Keep the barista station clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout service.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment properly.
• Implement daily opening and closing routines including equipment cleaning and calibration.
• Monitor inventory levels of coffee, milk, syrups, garnishes, cups, and report replenishment needs.
• Minimize waste while upholding quality and consistency.
• Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
• Ensure beverages align with the brand's quality and visual standards.
• Collaborate closely with service and kitchen teams for smooth operations.
• Contribute to creation and testing of new specialty beverages and seasonal menus when requested.
• Maintain professional appearance, a positive attitude, and excellent personal hygiene.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Barista in specialty coffee environments, fine dining, hotels, cafés or similar upscale hospitality.
• Deep understanding of specialty coffee preparation and espresso-based beverages.
• Proven ability to handle and care for professional espresso and grinding equipment.
• Advanced milk steaming, texturing, and latte art capabilities.
• Expertise in preparing signature and specialty hot drinks.
• Knowledgeable about coffee bean varieties, roast profiles, extraction processes, and brewing principles.
• Thorough knowledge of food safety and hygiene best practices.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in busy environments.
• Strong focus on detail and commitment to delivering consistent quality.
• Professional grooming and polished presentation.
• Fluent English; additional languages considered a plus.
• Barista or specialty coffee certification preferred.
