Automation Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join a reputed steel products company based in Saudi Arabia. This role requires expertise in industrial automation and electrical maintenance within steel rolling mills. The position offers an attractive salary package and additional company benefits.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

• Perform electrical maintenance and troubleshooting with a focus on rolling mills.
• Develop and maintain automation software using Siemens, ABB, Allen Bradley systems.
• Program and manage PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems including Rockwell and SIMATIC Step 7 platforms.
• Work with AC/DC drives, servo drives, soft starters, and electrical CAD software for system design.
• Handle industrial networking, basic database programming, and contribute to digitization initiatives including Industry 4.0 and IIoT.
• Maintain MV and LV distribution boards, plan shifts, manage spare parts inventory.
• Apply fundamentals of electrical principles, wiring diagrams, motor maintenance and cybersecurity basics.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunication Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance and automation, preferably within rolling mills in steel or iron industries.
• Proficiency in software skills such as Python, Java, C++, C#, and SQL is advantageous.
