Job Summary
The Associate in Treasury Operations Control is charged with overseeing and validating treasury transactions, positions, limits, and profitability to guarantee accuracy, compliance with regulations, and effective risk oversight. This role supports the preparation of daily management reports, performs reconciliations, monitors market and investment activities, and assists in ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulatory frameworks. Collaboration with Treasury, Financial Control, Custodians, and various stakeholders is integral to preserving operational integrity and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and verify daily Profit & Loss reports to ensure all treasury accounts are complete and precise.
- Examine daily treasury transaction data to detect variances, inconsistencies, or unusual activity.
- Track foreign exchange positions and treasury limits, ensuring compliance within approved parameters.
- Maintain awareness of market indicators, interest income, investment outcomes, and dividends impacting treasury holdings.
- Contribute to preparing daily, weekly, and monthly management reports with comprehensive explanations of significant changes.
- Support the establishment and application of key performance indicators along with best practice procedures within Treasury Operations Control.
- Assist initiatives targeting cost efficiency and continual improvement across treasury functions.
- Ensure accurate processing and recording of treasury transactions within management systems.
- Provide prompt, reliable support to internal parties, auditors, regulators, and authorized external entities.
- Foster collaborative relationships with Treasury Front Office, Financial Control, Risk Management, Operations, Custodians, and other departments.
- Maintain service delivery standards by meeting agreed response times and service level commitments.
- Investigate and address reconciliation discrepancies, booking issues, and operational exceptions.
- Confirm market prices, valuations, and rates are timely and precise within treasury systems.
- Conduct physical verifications and reconciliations of treasury transactions aligned with custodians and the General Ledger.
- Generate periodic reports required by management, regulators, and the Qatar Central Bank.
- Support senior colleagues by analyzing treasury performance metrics, accruals, valuations, and variance causes.
- Monitor investment portfolios to validate accuracy and completeness of reporting.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for treasury activity, reconciliations, and control processes.
- Engage in ongoing professional development in treasury products, market trends, banking regulations, and risk management.
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related fields is required.
- Prior experience in Treasury Operations, Treasury Control, Financial Control, Banking Operations, or Capital Markets Operations is preferred.
