Job description
Role Overview
This position offers the chance to engage directly with children, supporting their learning, development, and overall well-being within a conducive environment maintaining a teacher-to-student ratio of 1:12. You will be integral in ensuring the effective implementation of programs such as enrichment activities, homework supervision, and creative projects.
Work Schedule and Remuneration
- Monthly salary ranges from $2,000 to $2,800, depending on experience.
- Full-time shifts run from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM during school holidays with possible earlier start times.
- Part-time work hours are Monday to Friday, from 1 PM to 6 PM.
- Additional hours during center events outside normal hours are compensated with time off.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in delivering educational programs and oversee students' homework, enrichment, and play sessions.
- Help ensure smooth daily and holiday program operations.
- Facilitate both indoor and outdoor play activities while promoting safety and active engagement.
- Maintain a nurturing, positive, and stimulating atmosphere for all children.
- Document attendance and child progress including observations.
- Carry out operational tasks as delegated by the Centre Manager or Director.
- Participate as needed in outreach activities or events during evenings or weekends.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisory staff.
Qualifications and Desired Attributes
- Ideally hold a Polytechnic Diploma or Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related discipline.
- Possess at least one year’s experience working with children, especially in student care or early years programs; new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Show strong aptitude for guiding children academically and developing them holistically, with patience and enthusiasm.
- Have the ability to support both English and Chinese educational content for primary school students.
- Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Additional talents in enrichment areas such as music, dance, baking, sports, art, or gardening will be advantageous.
