Job Overview

The Assistant Accountant will play a supportive role within the accounting team by handling daily financial operations, entering data, maintaining documentation, ensuring compliance, and assisting with financial report preparation. This position is designed for candidates with an inclination towards detail, organization, and a desire to develop professionally in accounting.

Primary Duties

• Execute daily bookkeeping and input financial data into accounting systems such as Tally, Zoho, QuickBooks, and Xero.
• Help prepare GST, TDS, and Income Tax filings.
• Organize and maintain client financial records systematically.
• Perform basic reconciliation tasks involving banks, vendors, and customers.
• Assist in generating financial statements and internal MIS reports.
• Monitor deadlines for statutory filings to ensure compliance is met on time.
• Lead and manage a small team of one to two members.

Qualifications & Skills Required

• Degree holders in B.Com, M.Com, BBA, or MBA specializing in Finance or related disciplines.
• Fundamental understanding of accounting principles, GST, TDS, and Income Tax.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas and data management.
• Familiarity with accounting software like Tally, Zoho Books, or QuickBooks is advantageous.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Preferred: Internship experience or at least six months in an accounting or finance role.
• Exposure to UK accounting standards or cloud-based accounting platforms such as Xero or Dext is a bonus.
