Job description
About Zed Systems Limited
Zed is an innovative mobile-first digital financial platform designed specifically for everyday Nigerians. The platform integrates local and international payments, multi-currency virtual cards, real-time foreign exchange, utilities, invoicing, and bill splitting into an all-in-one solution. Their mission centers on simplifying money management.
Role Overview
As a key member of a fast-paced, lean team nearing product launch, the Agile Product Manager will take full ownership of end-to-end product delivery. This is a fully remote position within the fintech industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and prioritize the product roadmap aligned with business Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
- Maintain and refine a structured backlog, crafting detailed user stories with acceptance criteria and clear business value.
- Lead Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement sessions with consistency and rigor.
- Translate Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulatory requirements into user-friendly onboarding processes in collaboration with Compliance teams.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams—Engineering, Design, Compliance, and Growth—by removing impediments and ensuring continuous progress.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs), implement tracking mechanisms, and present monthly performance insights to leadership.
- Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and define "done" criteria to ensure all releases deliver quality and confidence.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 3 to 5 years of direct product management experience with demonstrated ownership of shipped products and end-to-end roadmap management.
- Proven practical experience running Agile/Scrum processes including Sprint ceremonies, backlog management, and velocity tracking.
- Domain expertise in fintech or payments, with understanding of payment systems, foreign exchange, card issuance, CBN regulations, and compliance in product contexts.
- Startup experience or mindset, comfortable building frameworks and processes from scratch without relying on existing structures.
- Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical skills to define metrics, implement product instrumentation, and base decisions on evidence.
- Excellent communicator capable of translating complex technical matters for non-technical stakeholders clearly while maintaining nuance.
- Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Postman or Swagger, Figma, Mixpanel or Amplitude, Miro, and Notion.
Who Should Not Apply
- Individuals who require significant structure or close supervision to perform effectively.
- Applicants with Agile listed on their résumé but lacking actual Sprint ceremony leadership experience.
- Those seeking roles in large corporations with established processes rather than dynamic startup environments.
- People expecting to learn fundamental product management skills on the job.
- Candidates unable to build product roadmaps independently from the ground up.
