Role Overview

The Transmission Lineworker will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and constructing transmission line assets to uphold system reliability and meet customer expectations. This position involves reacting to emergency incidents, performing scheduled maintenance, and supporting major construction projects while prioritizing safety, teamwork, and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair transmission line infrastructure.
• Conduct inspections and identify any issues affecting asset conditions.
• Develop and follow safe work procedures and safety documentation.
• Mentor apprentices and junior technicians in work practices.
• Assume crew leader duties when required.
• Collaborate closely with Field Coordinators and Site Managers to ensure safe and efficient project execution.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems, specializing in Transmission and/or Distribution Overhead lines.
• Ability to work flexible hours including on-call and after-hours support to respond to system emergencies.
• Possession of a valid Australian Driver’s License.
• Strong understanding of inspection, maintenance, and construction processes related to transmission line infrastructure.

Preferred Additional Licenses and Experience

• High Risk Work Licenses such as Dogging (DG), Rigging (RB, RI, RA basic to advanced levels).
• Crane vehicle operation licenses (CV, C2, C6 for 20T and 60T cranes).
• Elevated Work Platform (WP) certification.
• Forklift (LF) license.
• Heavy Rigid Vehicle driver’s license is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Prior experience with high-voltage maintenance tasks, including pole replacement, insulator changes, and hot joint repairs.
