Job Overview
We are hiring a Training Technician specializing in Water to work onsite in Doha, Qatar. This role involves preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment and facilities essential for delivering hands-on technical training focused on water treatment and related systems. The technician will assist trainers, ensure equipment functionality, uphold safety standards, and manage maintenance documentation.
Primary Duties
- Oversee laboratory apparatus, tools, and instructional materials custody.
- Prepare all necessary equipment and resources prior to training sessions.
- Assist instructors during sessions, demonstrations, and evaluations.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and minor repairs on lab machines and equipment.
- Handle urgent equipment failures and maintenance emergencies efficiently.
- Operate and maintain pumps, valves, pipelines, flowmeters, and water treatment devices.
- Perform calibration, troubleshooting, and repairs on various lab instruments and water quality monitors.
- Ensure lab compliance with all safety, cleanliness, and operational guidelines.
- Maintain thorough documentation including logs for maintenance and calibration, plus equipment inventories.
- Help set up lab experiments and ensure training materials are functional and available.
Mandatory Qualifications and Experience
- At least two years of experience relevant to water treatment plants, laboratory operations, equipment upkeep, or technical training assistance.
- Diploma or Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Water Technology, or closely related fields. A Higher Diploma is a plus.
- Technical know-how in preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical and laboratory devices.
- Practical skills with pumps, valves, flowmeters, pipelines, and water treatment systems.
- Competence in calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing lab instruments and monitoring equipment.
- Awareness of lab safety protocols and equipment handling standards.
- Basic proficiency in documenting maintenance activities and keeping equipment records.
