Role Overview

The TQM Team Member will spearhead continuous improvement efforts across the organization, fostering a culture that prioritizes operational excellence. This role involves conducting thorough assessments and audits while collaborating closely with manufacturing leaders to boost quality, productivity, cost efficiency, delivery, and overall operational outcomes.

Key Duties

Implement and maintain Total Quality Management (TQM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) systems throughout manufacturing sites.
Lead Business Excellence programs focusing on quality, cost control, delivery schedules, safety, productivity, and engaging employees.
Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement projects aimed at waste reduction and enhancing process capabilities.
Perform Business Excellence, TPM, and process audits to evaluate progress and uncover improvement prospects.
Create strategic plans for operational excellence and track their progress using defined KPIs.
Provide coaching to plant leadership and interdisciplinary teams on Lean principles, TPM, and quality enhancement techniques.
Apply structured problem-solving approaches such as PDCA, Kaizen, A3 thinking, 8D problem solving, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, and statistical tools.
Champion benchmarking efforts and facilitate the application of best practices across manufacturing units.
Develop capabilities by conducting training sessions, workshops, and mentoring initiatives for plant personnel.
Collaborate with teams from Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Engineering to ensure sustainable improvements.
Track the advancement of ongoing improvement projects and regularly update senior management through reviews.
Assist in broader organizational change initiatives and programs aimed at fostering a business excellence culture.

Candidate Profile

Minimum of seven years in roles related to Business Excellence, TQM, or TPM.
Currently engaged in core TQM, TPM, or Business Excellence functions.
Experience working in large-scale manufacturing setups with over 2,000 employees.
Background in high-volume mass production coupled with complex manufacturing environments.
Preferably experienced with Japanese manufacturing companies, Automotive OEMs, or Tier 1 automotive suppliers.
Candidates combining industry experience with approximately three years in consulting or auditing positions will be strongly favored.
Professional certifications in areas such as TQM, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, or related business excellence methodologies are advantageous.

Educational Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required. Postgraduate qualifications in Operations or Business Management would be beneficial.

Positions are based in Pune, Maharashtra and Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
