Role Overview
As an Evacuation Slide Aerospace Technician, your work involves assembling components, managing dangerous goods, and packing and testing inflatable equipment in line with component maintenance manuals. This role demands physical stamina and teamwork to fulfill high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Execute tasks at the production cell level to meet schedules.
- Inspect and assemble sub-components and conduct final testing per Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) standards.
- Strictly follow safety protocols when handling hazardous materials.
- Perform folding and packing of inflatable devices adhering to CMM and packing guidelines.
- Quickly address defects and maintain accurate repair cost estimates.
- Collaborate closely with supervisors and support staff to troubleshoot as necessary.
- Comply with Quality Management Systems such as AS9110C and Airworthiness Part 145.
- Utilize measuring instruments including torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges effectively.
- Abide by Environment, Health & Safety policies and regulations consistently.
- Follow all applicable US and Singapore export control laws.
- Engage actively in process enhancements and safety and environmental initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum education: GCE "O" Level, ITE/NITEC in mechanical, mechatronic, or related engineering fields, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience working with slide packing is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in English reading, writing, and comprehension.
- Ability to interpret technical documents including manuals, service orders, specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Computer skills are required; familiarity with SAP is a plus.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Physically capable and ready to perform demanding tasks.
- Understanding of knot tying and fabric folding techniques.
- Applicants without prior aviation experience are welcomed; training will be provided.
