About the role

QantasLink Engineering, part of the Qantas Group through National Jet Systems, is looking for a Technical Services Engineer to support the continued airworthiness of its expanding fleet. This permanent full-time position is based in Adelaide and comes at a significant growth moment for the business, including the planned introduction of the Airbus A220 fleet.

In this role, you will contribute to technical excellence, fleet reliability, and safe operations across one of Australia’s largest regional airline fleets. The position offers scope to grow your technical capability while supporting maintenance and reliability initiatives that have a direct impact on regional aviation.

The engineering teams work closely across QantasLink and the wider Qantas Group, with a focus on initiative, collaboration, and operational excellence.

What you will do

  • Provide technical engineering guidance and support to the National Jet Systems CAMO function.
  • Help improve the technical condition of Airbus A220 aircraft and their components.
  • Ensure maintenance and engineering activity remains aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Work toward reliability gains and cost-effective outcomes across the fleet.
  • Coordinate with original equipment manufacturers to achieve effective repair and modification solutions.
  • Carry out engineering assessments and convert Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness into practical maintenance actions.
  • Examine recurring defects and reliability patterns, then recommend improvements.
  • Support maintenance teams with troubleshooting and defect resolution.
  • Take part in reliability programs and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain compliance with CASA rules and internal safety and quality standards.
  • Prepare and keep accurate technical documentation, reports, and records.

What you need

  • At least 5 years of experience in a technical aviation or engineering setting.
  • Relevant aircraft engineering qualification or an equivalent background such as AME, LAME, or an engineering degree.
  • Experience in a commercial aircraft environment; Airbus commercial aircraft exposure is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of CASR Part 42, 21J, and 21M requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate defects, interpret trends, and improve reliability outcomes.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving capability, including the ability to work with Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Well-developed organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
