Position Overview
This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities based in Porirua, Lower Hutt, Wellington. The role involves working shifts that cover mornings, afternoons, sleepovers, and some regular weekends. Successful candidates will earn between $24.68 and $30.13 per hour depending on their qualifications, with additional opportunities for pay increases as they advance their certifications.
About the Role
We seek a resilient and compassionate Support Worker committed to assisting a male client with complex behavioural challenges. Your responsibilities include supporting emotional regulation, ensuring safety, and fostering growth. This position requires strength of character and the ability to stand by an individual through difficult situations, supported by a comprehensive training program and a dedicated team.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated life experience with the capacity to remain calm and steadfast in tough situations.
- Resilience and confidence when managing challenging behaviours.
- Physical fitness and assuredness in high-stress circumstances.
- Ability to work respectfully and openly with individuals from diverse backgrounds, maintaining a non-judgmental attitude.
- Comfort and competency with daily use of computers and tablets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possession of a Full New Zealand driver's license.
