About the Company

Our client operates a well-established food manufacturing facility in Tokoroa, New Zealand. The site has recently expanded its production capacity and is now growing its supply chain team to align with this growth.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, this newly created role involves developing and managing the supply plan for dairy product operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards and delivery-in-full-on-time (DIFOT) targets. The role requires ownership of inventory management across New Zealand operations, maintaining balance among raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods aligned with demand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain supply plans in line with production forecasts and customer demand.
  • Manage the outputs from SAP MRP systems, adapting plans to disruptions or demand fluctuations.
  • Oversee inventory control across raw materials, work in progress (WIP), and finished goods.
  • Establish appropriate safety stock levels and reorder points to avoid stockouts and overstocks.
  • Collaborate directly with suppliers to resolve delivery challenges.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, logistics, and quality teams to ensure supply continuity.
  • Monitor and report on forecast accuracy, service levels, and inventory turnover.
  • Manage the setup of new SKUs and maintain accurate master data.

Required Skills and Experience

  • At least five years of planning experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing sectors is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in SAP and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Possession of a CPIM or a comparable supply chain qualification is beneficial.
  • Strong ability to build cross-functional and cross-site relationships.
  • Willingness and availability to work full-time onsite in Tokoroa; remote or hybrid work arrangements are not considered.

What You Will Gain

This position offers a unique opportunity to shape and develop supply planning processes at a growing site, providing significant autonomy and influence. You will work closely with production, procurement, and logistics teams and report directly to the Supply Chain Manager.

Benefits

  • Health insurance coverage.
  • Wellbeing-related benefits.
  • Relocation assistance available.
  • Direct ownership of a newly established function within the supply chain team.
