Job Overview
The Supply Chain Coordinator will play a vital role in streamlining day-to-day supply chain functions by managing interplant transfers, acquiring transportation quotes, overseeing purchase orders, liaising with suppliers, and procuring indirect materials and MRO supplies. This position demands collaboration with departments such as Purchasing, Logistics, Manufacturing, Sales, and Suppliers to guarantee smooth material flow and precise purchasing activities while enhancing overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and oversee transfer orders between company facilities.
- Track transfer order progress and communicate any delays or challenges proactively.
- Manage inter-company procedures by preparing and submitting cross-border documentation for freight and customs clearance (specifically US-Canada border).
- Acquire freight and parcel shipping quotes to support sales and client inquiries.
- Assist in shipment monitoring and update relevant systems accordingly.
- Revise and maintain purchase orders reflecting supplier shipping updates and adjusted delivery timetables.
- Coordinate with both domestic and international suppliers on shipment statuses and delivery timelines, updating internal teams accordingly.
- Address purchase order inconsistencies and notify internal parties of any amendments.
- Procure indirect materials such as consumables, office supplies, and maintenance, repair, and operations materials.
- Request and assess quotations focusing on price, delivery lead times, and supplier capabilities.
- Generate and administer purchase orders aligning with company procurement policies.
- Monitor outstanding orders and liaise with suppliers to ensure punctual delivery.
- Contribute to cost reduction strategies and supplier consolidation efforts.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety, security, and procedural regulations.
Candidate Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline, combined with up to two years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, logistics, supply chain, or materials management; or equivalent educational and experiential background.
- Competency in working within computer-aided business environments utilizing Microsoft Office and similar software.
- Strong meticulousness and precision in task execution.
- Excellent oral and written communication capabilities.
- Preferable experience dealing with coordination of domestic and international supplier operations.
- Desirable knowledge of transportation and freight parcel shipping procedures.
Compensation
Salary falls within the range of $45,000 to $50,000 annually.
