Specialist, Corporate Finance (Financial Reporting)

Job Purpose

This position is responsible for the preparation, consolidation, and review of the company's financial statements and disclosures according to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and relevant regulations. The role upholds the accuracy, completeness, and timely dissemination of financial information while supporting corporate governance, audits, and stock exchange compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile and consolidate periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annually) ensuring adherence to IFRS and regulatory standards.
• Assist with preparing group consolidated financial statements, handling intercompany eliminations and subsidiary data consolidation.
• Develop supporting schedules, disclosures, and notes aligned with IFRS reporting requirements.
• Ensure all financial reporting complies with IFRS, corporate policies, and applicable regulatory bodies including stock exchanges like ADX and SCA.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, evaluate their effects, and facilitate the integration of new regulations.
• Maintain and refine the company’s accounting guidelines, procedures, and reporting manuals.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation to enable timely audit completion.
• Ensure financial internal controls are properly implemented and assist in addressing audit findings.
• Oversee account reconciliations and verify the accuracy of the general ledger balances.
• Prepare management reports and analyses to support financial leadership and executive decision-making.
• Assist in creating reports for the board, shareholders, and regulatory disclosures including annual reports.
• Provide insights on financial performance, identifying variances and key reporting issues.
• Support the optimization and utilization of financial reporting and ERP systems to enhance efficiency and precision.
• Contribute to automating and improving ongoing financial reporting processes and internal controls.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional accounting certifications such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
• At least 8 years of relevant financial reporting, accounting, or external audit experience, ideally in oil & gas, energy sectors, or large corporate/listed firms.
• Comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience with IFRS, consolidation, and financial reporting systems; prior Big 4 audit firm experience is advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficient computer skills with fluency in English language.
