SMETA Auditor - APASCA (CSCA)

Job Overview

This position entails performing SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) assessments certified by APASCA (CSCA) throughout various client sites across India. The role demands evaluating adherence to labour, health and safety, environmental regulations, and business ethics standards.

Primary Duties

• Execute both 2-pillar and 4-pillar SMETA audits at manufacturing units and other facilities.
• Examine relevant documents, conduct thorough site inspections, and interview employees and management personnel.
• Detect and document non-conformities, preparing comprehensive audit reports and Corrective Action Plans (CAPRs).
• Ensure audit processes adhere strictly to SMETA protocols and comply with applicable Indian labour and health, safety, and environment (HSE) laws.
• Manage audit scheduling, maintain communications with clients, and submit reports punctually.
• Uphold professional ethics, integrity, and confidentiality throughout all audit activities.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of experience conducting social compliance or ethical trade audits; familiarity with SMETA, BSCI, or SA8000 preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and HSE regulations.
• Possession of APSCA registration or completion of SMETA auditor training is advantageous.
• Excellent abilities in communication, analytical thinking, and report writing.
• Willingness to undertake extensive travel within India as part of job requirements.

Additional Information

This role is primarily remote but requires frequent travel across India. The candidate will be based at the corporate office or operate remotely depending on audit locations.
