Overview
The Site Engagement Manager (SEM) will be responsible for guiding clinical site operations across Saudi Arabia and UAE by owning and executing site engagement strategies. This role requires managing relationships with clinical investigators and sites to enhance performance and support clinical development programs focused on Immunology.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement strategies to actively engage clinical trial sites and investigators.
- Analyze and differentiate high-performing clinical sites from lower performance sites.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with investigators and site staff to maintain ongoing site performance and leverage their expertise.
- Identify, screen, and develop high-quality investigative sites in alignment with clinical development needs.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and vendors to support site engagement activities.
- Create and execute comprehensive Site Engagement Plans in partnership with the clinical team throughout all phases of clinical trials.
- Support clinical teams by addressing competitive trial landscape and overcoming recruitment and operational challenges with motivational tactics to ensure study milestones are met.
- Develop and nurture a global network of high-performing sites, using consistent and multi-channel communication to increase awareness and foster partnerships.
- Engage with site engagement organizations and identify key opinion leaders to support advisory forums and company discussions.
- Assist sites in overcoming enrollment challenges by reinforcing site-specific recruitment plans.
- Provide regional and cultural perspective support for studies and aid quality-related site visits as necessary.
- Coordinate with strategic partners to align systems and processes for site identification and engagement.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders about study-related site visit activities.
- Availability to travel extensively, including overnight stays, potentially globally, up to 50% of the time.
Qualifications and Experience
- Terminal scientific degree (PhD, MD, DO, PharmD, PsyD, DNP or equivalent) is preferred; Master’s or Bachelor’s degrees may be considered if supplemented with relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of experience within Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or CRO industries, especially in roles related to site engagement or investigator interaction such as Clinical Project Manager, Study Director/Coordinator, CRA, or patient/site engagement roles.
- Comprehensive understanding of clinical research processes, site logistics, and clinical trial operations.
- Scientific or clinical background specifically in Immunology or Autoimmune Diseases is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience as a Clinical Trial Liaison in the pharmaceutical or medical device sector is advantageous.
- Strong grasp of scientific exchange within regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive approach to engaging investigators and clinical sites.
- Knowledgeable regarding FDA compliance, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ability to remotely manage a regionally assigned territory from a home office.
- Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and online collaboration tools such as LiveMeeting®, Zoom, and MS Teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel about 50% of the time within the assigned area, including overnight stays.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
