Overview
BuzzyBooth is hiring a creative editor who can turn short videos into content that immediately captures attention and keeps viewers watching. The role focuses on fast-paced, social-first editing for reels and UGC-style videos under one minute.
The work involves producing around 100 short videos each month, with an emphasis on modern pacing, sharp hooks, clean storytelling, and visual effects that feel polished and engaging rather than cluttered or overdone.
Key responsibilities
You will edit short-form content for platforms such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, making sure each piece is optimized for retention and viewer interest.
Your edits should include attention-grabbing captions, kinetic typography, emojis, callouts, highlights, and bold on-screen hooks where needed.
You should also be comfortable adding pattern interrupts such as zooms, jump cuts, sound effects, memes, overlays, screen recordings, b-roll, camera shake, transitions, split screens, green screen effects, motion graphics, and other visual elements that improve engagement.
The job also calls for turning talking-head footage into energetic, polished videos that feel dynamic and easy to follow.
Another part of the role is selecting music, sound effects, pacing, and cut timing that help hold audience attention through the end of the video.
You should understand current social media trends and know how to edit in a way that supports strong watch time and completion rates.
Content types may include UGC ads, founder-led videos, storytelling content, testimonials, and educational clips.
Bonus capabilities
It is a plus if you can design thumbnails or cover frames, repurpose long-form videos into multiple short clips, and work with direct-response advertising or conversion-focused editing.
Experience with tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut, or similar software is also a bonus.
