Job Overview
This position involves the installation, commissioning, and configuration of industrial automation solutions at client sites. Key duties include troubleshooting PLCs and related automation equipment, providing both preventive and corrective maintenance, and delivering high-quality technical support to ensure operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate industrial automation systems at customer facilities.
- Diagnose and resolve problems related to PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo drives, sensors, and control panels.
- Carry out routine preventive maintenance as well as repair breakdowns of automation devices.
- Offer both onsite and remote technical assistance to clients to address their needs.
- Execute system testing, validate installations, and optimize performance for maximum efficiency.
- Document all service activities, preparing detailed reports and maintenance records post-visit.
- Collaborate with internal teams including design, production, and sales to ensure smooth project delivery and technical support.
- Conduct training sessions for clients on proper operation, upkeep, and safety protocols related to automation equipment.
- Ensure prompt resolution of service requests while upholding superior customer service standards.
- Advocate for spare parts procurement, Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs), and system upgrades where applicable.
- Adhere strictly to company safety policies and comply with site-specific safety regulations.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient in programming PLCs from manufacturers such as Siemens, Delta, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, and Omron.
- Experience with human-machine interface (HMI) systems, SCADA platforms, VFDs, servo drives, sensors, and instrumentation relevant to industrial automation.
- Knowledgeable about industrial network communication protocols including Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and RS-485.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel blueprints.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities paired with effective communication and customer interaction skills.
- Preparedness to travel extensively to various client locations as job demands.
Educational Requirements and Experience
- Diploma, Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degrees in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
- One to five years of experience in industrial automation or field service roles.
- Candidates without prior work experience but possessing strong technical aptitude and a willingness to travel will also be considered.
Preferred Expertise
- Prior involvement in machine automation, process automation, or factory automation projects.
- Familiarity with control panel wiring and system commissioning.
- Hands-on experience with industrial networking and field instrumentation.
- Understanding of preventive maintenance procedures and Annual Maintenance Contract support.
Compensation
Monthly remuneration is within the range of ₹20,000 to ₹30,000, determined based on candidate experience, technical prowess, interview results, and industrial automation competency.
