Server Test Technician - Electronics Manufacturing (Tampines)

Overview

This role is based in Tampines, Singapore, within a global technology firm specializing in tailored server, storage, networking, and AI infrastructure solutions serving hyperscale data centers and cloud service providers. Compensation will correspond with experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist testing operations within a manufacturing setting, ensuring seamless test workflows and accurate data management.
• Support test engineering by preparing test setups, configuring systems, troubleshooting issues, and providing production assistance.
• Translate Test Process Instructions for the production team and deliver trainings to testers.
• Guide operators through testing procedures and resolve inquiries during the testing process.
• Maintain audit-compliant records of training sessions.
• Develop and manage Golden Images for servers and verify data integrity in test databases.
• Coordinate approval cycles to confirm production readiness and timely shipping.
• Create and adjust rack test configurations based on Bill of Materials and Engineering Instructions.
• Collaborate with software teams to implement rack configurations into testing systems.
• Set up new component records, including switches and power shelves, in databases.
• Diagnose and resolve basic test line issues and perform root cause analysis, escalating complex problems as needed.
• Raise support tickets and interact with relevant teams for problem resolution.
• Mentor junior technicians by providing guidance and training when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

• 2 to 4 years of experience in a testing or manufacturing environment, or alternatively, 4+ years without a degree.
• Preferably experienced with server, rack, or hardware testing environments.
• Familiarity with Linux and DOS operating systems.
• Basic understanding of electrical principles.
• Competent in intermediate computer hardware troubleshooting.
• Basic skills in troubleshooting network hardware issues.
• Ability to comprehend and interpret Python or other programming scripts.
