Senior S3D Tool Administrator

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior S3D Tool Administrator to join our team in Abu Dhabi, reporting directly to the Head of Department. This role plays a critical part in the management, customization, installation, and training related to the S3D application within FEED and EPC projects.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, install, and manage the S3D application server and client setups.
• Customize and administer the S3D site, plant, and catalog configurations tailored to project needs.
• Configure related services including batch servers, name generators, IFC servers, clash rules, and rule checkers.
• Set up global work shares and Citrix environments to support S3D operations.
• Create multi-discipline catalogs, symbols, and name rules for effective project workflows.
• Customize multi-discipline S3D support libraries using Visual Studio.
• Develop and tailor deliverables such as layout drawings, isometrics, and custom reports.
• Provide ongoing multi-discipline user support and training for S3D products.
• Assist in establishing the SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) integrated environment matching project requirements.
• Draft project-specific procedures adhering to client and project standards.
• Develop and maintain project breakdown structures (PBS) aligned with SPF or client criteria, including discipline-specific hierarchies.
• Manage all necessary customizations and configurations within S3D.
• Oversee publishing and retrieval processes involving S3D, SmartPlant P&ID, and SPF systems.
• Resolve user issues related to publishing, retrieving, and data correlation within S3D.
• Prepare datasets for 3D model reviews and actively participate in client review meetings.
• Collaborate with IT and Hexagon to resolve any S3D system-related issues.
• Manage company audits and ensure smooth data handover to clients.

Candidate Profile

• Possess an engineering degree.
• 13 to 16 years of experience in S3D administration and customization within FEED or EPC project environments.
• Proficient in Dot Net programming, specifically VB and C#, for customizing S3D.
• Deep understanding of engineering data flow across multiple disciplines in project settings.
• Skilled in pipe support and symbol customization using Visual Studio.
• Experienced in customizing drawings, reports, and labels within S3D.
• Familiar with SmartPlant Foundation functions for retrieving, correlating, and publishing data.
• Highly knowledgeable of configuration and administration tasks related to batch servers, name generators, IFC servers, and clash detection.
• Beneficial skills include management experience, knowledge of the oil and gas industry, familiarity with Smart P&ID and other engineering tools, and exposure to AVEVA E3D.

Additional Information

The position requires immediate availability to start. The role reports hierarchically to the ADPES Head of Department and operationally to Project Engineering and IM Managers. It involves interaction with various stakeholders including SP tool administrators, discipline leads, document controllers, IM managers, and clients.
