About the Role
Join the Microsoft Frontier Company Engineering team to work closely with some of the world's most complex organizations by delivering impactful software solutions. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be embedded directly within customer teams to address challenging problems through rapid development of production-ready data science solutions. You will be part of small, cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, and domain specialists, owning the entire lifecycle from data collection through deployment.

Responsibilities
- Collect necessary data and create usable datasets for modeling projects, while updating best practices for data handling and participating in data integrity discussions with customers.
- Assess and enhance models based on business outcome metrics, design operational scalable models, and introduce new evaluation techniques.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of relevant industries, technologies, and trends to spot strategic opportunities and contribute thought leadership.
- Write extensible, multi-feature code with expertise in debugging methods.
- Define strategic goals aligned with business, customer, and solutions requirements, collaborating with teams to explore new opportunities and manage customer expectations.
- Demonstrate and promote company culture and values in everyday work.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field with 1+ year of data science experience involving data management, statistical application, and result reporting; OR
- Master’s degree in the aforementioned fields with at least 3 years of related data science experience; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in the aforementioned fields with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in customer-facing roles such as project delivery, professional services, or consulting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD with 3+ years of data science experience; OR Master’s with 5+ years; OR Bachelor’s with 7+ years; or equivalent experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
