About the Role

Digicel Pacific is seeking applications from qualified and motivated experts to fill the role of Scheduler based in Port Moresby. This position, reporting to the Channel Manager, requires managing the programming and scheduling for TVWAN channels to guarantee smooth and precise broadcast operations. The Scheduler is tasked with organizing content schedules, managing client Television Commercial (TVC) bookings, overseeing commercial inventory, coordinating promotions, and aligning programming efforts to increase viewer engagement, fulfill commercial agreements, and advance the business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accept and review client TVCs for booking within broadcast schedules, ensuring compliance with authorized commercial orders and campaign criteria.
  • Collaborate closely with Trend media, internal departments, and marketing units to verify accurate advertisement placement and delivery.
  • Confirm TVC materials, durations, scheduled air dates, sponsorship deals, and air time allotments before finalizing the schedule.
  • Optimize commercial inventory to enhance channel use and revenue potential.
  • Ensure advertisements run according to contractual terms and approved running orders.
  • Monitor the execution of campaigns and facilitate make-good slots when necessary.
  • Keep detailed logs of booked commercials, schedule changes, and campaign progress.
  • Communicate actively with internal teams and clients about TVC preparedness, alterations, and broadcast status.
  • Verify the availability of all program and commercial material ahead of transmission schedules.
  • Coordinate with Content, Production, Acquisition, and Operations teams to ensure all content is ready for airing.
  • Maintain accurate metadata, program details, and Electronic Program Guide (EPG) data management.

  • Support uninterrupted channel playout and broadcast continuity by working with the Master Control Room (MCR) and technical groups to fix scheduling problems.
  • Monitor schedule adherence during executions and apply corrections if needed.
  • Prepare and distribute finalized transmission schedules to all relevant parties.
  • Generate reports on scheduling, commercial delivery, and airtime use.
  • Evaluate schedule compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Offer suggestions to improve programming workflows, inventory use, and audience engagement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Media, Broadcasting, Communications, Business, or related disciplines is required; Bachelor degree considered a plus.
  • At least 2 to 3 years' experience in television scheduling, commercial scheduling, or broadcast operations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of TV scheduling processes, broadcast workflows, and playout systems.
  • Experience with Television Commercial booking, Electronic Program Guide (EPG) maintenance, and content rights administration.
  • Proficiency in scheduling and reporting tools.
  • Strong organizational ability and skill in stakeholder coordination.
  • Capability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
