Role Purpose
The company is looking for an experienced SAP Project Systems (PS) & Sales (SD) Specialist to maintain, refine, and improve their SAP S/4HANA platform. This role involves comprehensive project lifecycle management within SAP PS including structuring projects, revenue recognition, cost planning, budgeting, and settlements. Additionally, the role supports SD processes tightly linked to projects, such as sales orders, project and milestone billing, electronic invoicing, PEPPOL standards, and integration with commercial billing.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and enhance SAP PS modules, including structuring WBS elements, networks, activities, and milestones.
- Define and manage Results Analysis (RA) keys for revenue recognition based on Percentage of Completion (POC) and cost accounting methods.
- Set up and optimize project cost planning, budgeting, availability control, and settlement functions within SAP PS.
- Ensure robust integration of SAP PS with Finance (FI/CO), Procurement (P2P), Plant Maintenance (PM), Sales & Distribution (SD), Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), and Salesforce systems.
- Support project-related SD operations such as managing sales orders, item categories, billing plans, milestone billing, and output management.
- Implement and maintain e-invoicing, PEPPOL compliance, tax integration (e.g., AvaTax), and SAP S/4HANA interfaces with Salesforce.
- Handle revenue recognition through RA key implementation, settlement rules setup, accruals, and milestone-based billing.
- Oversee planned vs actual cost monitoring and enforce financial controls for projects.
- Configure settlement rules covering cost centers, WBS, assets under construction, final assets, and internal orders.
- Support financial processes including debit/credit memos, intercompany billing, and internal recharge.
- Collaborate extensively with finance teams ensuring SAP PS aligns with IFRS project accounting standards.
- Optimize reporting using CDS Views, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and SAP Fiori to enhance project dashboards for finances and risk management.
- Improve data accuracy and governance for project system master data elements.
- Work closely with stakeholders across finance, procurement, commercial and business operations to improve project execution processes and SAP governance compliance.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- More than 7 years of practical experience with SAP Project Systems (PS) on SAP S/4HANA platform.
- Expertise in setting RA keys, revenue recognition under POC and cost-based approaches, and managing settlements.
- In-depth knowledge of planned cost budgeting, actual cost control, and multi-scenario project execution including ILI, CAPEX, R&D, and overhead projects.
- Proven skills in project structuring, WBS and network planning, and cost object mapping.
- Strong experience integrating SAP PS with FI/CO, logistics modules (EWM, P2P, PM), SD, and Salesforce.
- Familiarity with SAP SD processes such as sales orders, billing plans, e-invoicing/PEPPOL compliance, and commercial billing.
- Competency with technical reporting tools including CDS Views, SAP Fiori interface, and SAP Analytics Cloud for PS reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities and ability to drive enhancements in business processes.
Preferred Credentials
- Certifications in SAP PS and SD are advantageous, though not mandatory.
- Experience with SAP Signavio for process modeling and optimization.
- Familiarity with SAP Cloud ALM for implementation management, testing, and governance.
- Knowledge of multi-national project accounting and strong SAP data governance skills.
- Industry exposure to manufacturing, engineering, energy, or industrial services sectors.
