Role Overview

The Sanitation Associate plays a vital role in keeping the warehouse and office environments clean, sanitary, and safe in compliance with company standards related to safety, quality, and productivity. This function supports product safety, quality assurance, legal compliance, and contributes to an efficient and secure workplace that benefits customers.

Key Duties

• Operate cleaning machinery safely and proficiently in warehouse and office spaces.
• Adhere strictly to sanitation schedules and logging requirements.
• Handle cleaning agents and materials according to instructions.
• Monitor and communicate about cleaning supplies inventory for timely restocking.
• Keep floors clear of debris and maintain overall orderliness.
• Follow company safety protocols during all sanitation operations.
• Alert supervisors about any cleanliness issues from previous shifts.
• Remove snow in assigned areas seasonally.
• When qualified, inspect sweeper scrubber equipment before and after use to ensure proper working condition and appearance.
• Spot and report wasteful practices that may hinder workflow.

Education and Experience

• A high school diploma is preferred.
• Previous experience in sanitation or janitorial roles is advantageous.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in reading, speaking, and understanding English to complete tasks.
• Flexibility to adapt to shifting work environments and responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Customer service focus with a cooperative team-oriented attitude.

Additional Requirements

• If located in Quebec, the candidate must be functionally fluent in written and spoken French.
• Ability to comply with policies and procedures.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Manual dexterity to handle and manipulate materials.
• Capability to remain seated, walk, or stand throughout the work shift.
• Visual acuity necessary to perform key job functions.
• Physical capacity to move fully throughout the warehouse setting.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Schedule and Compensation

The position operates from Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Pay ranges from $18.25 to $23.50 CAD per hour, with the rate depending on factors such as experience, education, and market location.
