Role Overview

The Safety and Occupational Health Specialist plays a crucial role in advancing a nationwide safety initiative by offering expert advice, interpreting policies, and managing compliance and risk related to workplace safety and health.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform workplace inspections, conduct incident investigations, and carry out risk evaluations.
• Create and implement corrective action strategies to address identified hazards.
• Review project documentation to ensure all safety regulations and compliance requirements are met.
• Develop and deliver safety policies, training sessions, and guidance materials to staff and stakeholders.
• Serve as the organization’s liaison with internal and external parties regarding safety matters.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records.
• Promote ongoing improvements in safety procedures and occupational health standards.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or related disciplines.
• Minimum of five years experience working in occupational safety roles.
• Strong knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) legislation and regulations.
• Proficiency in hazard identification and implementation of safety systems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and project plans.
