Job description
Job Overview
We are currently hiring skilled Rolling Stock Overhaul Technicians to carry out comprehensive overhaul, repair, inspection, and maintenance tasks on various rolling stock components. These include bogies, couplers, gangways, doors, HVAC units, wheelsets, and other related equipment. The role requires ensuring that all overhaul operations adhere to safety protocols, efficiency standards, approved maintenance procedures, railway guidelines, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies. The technician will play a critical part in meeting the daily production schedules while upholding exceptional quality and reliability standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Possess a Diploma, ITI, Trade Certificate, or equivalent credential in Mechanical, Electrical, Railway Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Have at least three years of practical experience in the maintenance and overhaul of rolling stock or working within railway, metro, light rail, or similar mechanical/electrical industrial settings.
- Capable of diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and conducting detailed component overhauls.
- Skilled at reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance instructions accurately.
- Proficient in operating hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and other workshop machinery.
- Able to maintain precise maintenance records and technical documentation.
- Well-versed in Health, Safety & Environmental protocols including safe work systems, proper use of PPE, manual handling, and control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH).
- Possess basic computer literacy and be comfortable working with maintenance documentation electronically.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with maintenance systems such as TACT, Equinox, or CORMAP.
- Experience with OEM maintenance processes and comprehensive knowledge of railway maintenance standards.
- Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies and 5S workplace organization principles.
