Job description
Position Overview
The Retail Store Manager will lead daily store operations, enhance sales performance, supervise store staff, and guarantee excellent customer service. This position is accountable for reaching sales targets, managing store presentation according to brand standards, maintaining accurate inventory, and cultivating a motivated, efficient team.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily store opening, closing, and all administrative tasks related to store operations.
- Ensure visual merchandising meets brand policies and maintains appealing store displays.
- Implement loss prevention measures, perform routine inventory checks, and minimize shrinkage.
- Adhere to company protocols, local labor laws, and safety rules.
- Recruit, onboard, and train store associates and supervisors effectively.
- Set clear performance goals, conduct ongoing reviews, and handle staff performance issues.
- Design staff schedules that efficiently balance labor costs with peak shopping periods.
- Promote a cooperative and dynamic workplace atmosphere.
- Achieve sales targets on monthly, quarterly, and yearly bases while managing KPIs and profit margins.
- Monitor profit and loss statements, control expenses, and oversee payroll management.
- Use sales data to spot trends and identify sales growth opportunities.
- Lead sales floor activities to ensure excellent customer experiences.
- Handle customer grievances, returns, and service escalations promptly.
- Organize and execute local marketing promotions to increase store footfall.
Qualifications
- Minimum three years' experience in retail management or supervising in a fast-moving retail setting.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, solid financial understanding of P&L and sales analysis, strong communication, and conflict management skills.
- Familiarity with POS systems, inventory control software, and staff scheduling applications.
- Ability to work varied hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with capacity for physical tasks such as standing and lifting inventory.
