Role overview
Zaxbys is hiring a Restaurant Utility Worker to help keep the restaurant clean, safe, and running smoothly. This role focuses on everyday housekeeping, deep-cleaning tasks, and simple upkeep for the building and equipment so the location stays in good working order.
What you’ll do
- Complete all training required by Zax LLC.
- Help maintain a safe, tidy, and well-kept restaurant environment.
- Handle both scheduled and unscheduled cleaning and routine maintenance tasks.
- Carry out regular cleaning and preventive care for restaurant equipment.
- Check, run, or test equipment to spot problems and troubleshoot basic issues.
- Take care of minor lighting repairs.
- Perform thorough cleaning tasks, including pressure washing inside and outside the location.
- Read and follow equipment manuals, work orders, safety instructions, and procedure documents.
- Inspect the grounds, plumbing, electrical fixtures, outlets, kitchen equipment, and the building for preventative maintenance needs.
- Make simple repairs when needed.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and current maintenance records.
- Follow Zaxby’s Franchising LLC and Zax LLC standards, policies, and operating procedures.
- Work in a safe manner and comply with all safety rules and guidelines.
- Stay flexible and be willing to go beyond the basic duties of the role when needed.
- Report HR and risk-related concerns right away to the General Manager and District Manager.
- Escalate other issues to the supervisor when appropriate.
- Take on any other duties needed to keep restaurant operations functioning properly.
What we’re looking for
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Full-time availability should be 32 to 40 hours per week.
- The schedule may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Candidates should bring leadership qualities, strong organization, and the ability to work well with others.
Physical and work conditions
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods.
- Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, crouch, and climb, including ladder use.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying of up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
- Continuous use of hands and wrists for grasping and detailed hand work.
- Strong communication skills for speaking, reading, and writing.
- Good visual and audio awareness to notice and respond to surroundings.
- Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to hot and cold conditions as well as food and outdoor allergens.
- Must be able to work safely around restaurant equipment, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous tools.
