Job description
Role Overview
The SSP Group plc operates multiple dining establishments at Kelowna International Airport, including White Spot, Tim Hortons, and Subway. The Restaurant Shift Supervisor position is based within a secure airport location requiring eligibility for a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) according to Transport Canada regulations. This role is pivotal in supporting management and leading a team of Food Travel Experts to consistently meet and exceed service standards while delivering a superior customer experience aligned with the company's Passion Principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist management in ensuring consistent achievement of service standards by team members.
- Prioritize the guest experience as the foremost concern.
- Maintain operational brand standards and ensure daily completion of restaurant checklists and cleanliness schedules.
- Guide new team members through orientation, acting as a training mentor to uphold brand standards.
- Clearly convey job duties, priorities, and expectations to staff.
- Support and motivate the team to accomplish business objectives effectively.
- Set and communicate performance benchmarks, monitor team members' work, and document performance accordingly.
- Facilitate skill development among staff to enhance their job performance.
- Oversee cash handling responsibilities and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 12 months of experience in a busy restaurant or hotel environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and interact positively with team members.
- Ability to read, interpret, and articulate instructions clearly and directly.
- Teamwork skills suited to a fast-paced food service environment.
- Prior supervisory experience is necessary.
- Experience handling cash transactions is required.
- Possession of a Serving it Right certificate.
- Knowledge and experience in serving liquor.
Additional Information
- Compensation ranges between $22.50 and $26.50 per hour.
- Full-time availability is expected.
