Restaurant Manager

About the Role

This management position at a luxury hotel oversees restaurant, bar, and room service operations to ensure excellent guest and staff satisfaction and strong financial performance. The manager supervises daily operations, supports menu development, maintains hygiene standards, and assists staff during peak hours with cleaning tasks. They design and implement training programs to meet operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage restaurant, bar/lounge, and room service areas to maintain service and cleanliness standards.
• Supervise and direct staff duties to ensure smooth daily operations, including covering roles during absences.
• Maintain optimal staffing levels to meet guest service, operational, and financial objectives.
• Lead the food and beverage team by fostering teamwork, respect, and collaboration, demonstrating integrity and ethical business decisions.
• Identify staff development needs and provide coaching and guidance to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Set clear goals and prioritize tasks to complete work efficiently while maintaining workforce productivity.
• Ensure compliance with all food handling hygiene standards and alcohol service laws as per local, state, and federal regulations.
• Promote exceptional guest service, address customer complaints, and conduct informal guest feedback meetings to improve quality and satisfaction.
• Manage human resource activities including coaching, performance management, training programs, retention efforts, and open communication channels.
• Support department financial management including procurement and invoice payments.
• Assist during high-demand periods by directly supporting floor staff with cleaning and guest services.
• Step in for the assistant restaurant manager when needed.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant experience in food and beverage or kitchen roles, OR
• Two-year degree in food service management, hotel and restaurant management, business administration, or related field from an accredited university with minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
