Role Overview

As a Recoveries Officer, you will oversee managing a portfolio that includes worker, employer, and provider Scheme or Contract debt recovery cases, as well as Third Party wrongdoer cases. Your responsibilities will extend to handling Scheme debt along with Third Party, Common Law, Compulsory Third Party, and Public Liability litigation cases to optimize the financial outcomes and objectives of the scheme. You will also serve as a technical expert resource for Recovery Officers and claims operations personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to detect potential Third Party wrongdoer recoveries and reduce the impact of overpayments to injured workers, employers, or providers.
  • Maintain strong communication and provide specialized technical support to relevant internal and external parties to prevent overpayments.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary information relating to recovery cases.
  • Conduct investigations into potential recoveries, ensure proper documentation, and initiate recoveries within established timeframes.
  • Inform appropriate internal and external stakeholders promptly if unauthorized overpayments are identified.
  • Achieve performance metrics while adhering to relevant legislation, RTWSA Claims Operational Guidelines, and internal policies and procedures.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated experience in Workers Compensation or Personal Claims Management.
  • Proven ability to handle recovery case management.
  • Strong knowledge of Workers Compensation laws related to injuries, payments, and recovery mechanisms.
  • Understanding of laws governing recoveries and debt collection processes.
  • Experience operating within the public liability regulatory framework.
  • Familiarity with legislation such as the Motor Vehicle Act 1959, Road Traffic Act 1961, Civil Liability Act 1936, Return To Work Act 2014, and Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1986.
