Overview
As a receptionist at Shalina Diagnostics, you will serve as the primary point of contact at the diagnostic center. Your responsibilities include welcoming patients, managing appointment schedules, responding to inquiries, coordinating patient records, and facilitating communication between patients, lab personnel, and management. This role is critical in delivering a welcoming environment and ensuring smooth patient flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Professionally greet and receive patients and visitors at the diagnostic center.
- Register patients and collect their personal and medical information accurately.
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and adjustments for diagnostic procedures.
- Respond to phone calls, emails, and general questions about services, test protocols, and operational hours.
- Verify patient details ensuring all required documentation is complete before tests.
- Process billing, issue receipts, and handle basic payment transactions.
- Maintain confidential patient records and update the computerized system.
- Direct patients to the correct departments or laboratory sections.
- Coordinate with laboratory and medical staff concerning patient appointments and test results.
- Keep the reception and waiting area tidy and presentable at all times.
- Handle patient complaints or concerns appropriately, escalating issues if needed.
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and distribution of reports.
Qualifications and Experience
- A diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Office Management, Health Administration, or related disciplines.
- Prior experience as a receptionist, front desk officer, or customer service agent, preferably in healthcare or diagnostic environments.
