R&D Laboratory Technician

Job Overview

This role involves supporting the Research and Development (R&D) department by managing raw materials, assisting with product trials, and conducting preparation and testing of materials used in R&D. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining comprehensive records of all R&D activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and procure raw materials necessary for R&D laboratory purposes.
• Support the R&D Manager in conducting various project trials.
• Prepare and test raw materials and products related to research and development.
• Keep detailed documentation and logs of all R&D work performed.

Candidate Profile and Skills

• A third level qualification in materials science or similar field is desirable but not mandatory.
• Previous experience in a comparable role is beneficial; however, comprehensive training will be provided.
• Exceptional attention to detail is essential.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to undertake other duties as required.
• Capability to function effectively in a fast-paced building materials manufacturing setting.
• Manual handling training would be an advantage.
