Quality Assurance Analyst - Workflow Configuration & Test

About the Role

Optomi is collaborating with a major electric power and natural gas distribution company seeking a Workflow Configuration and Test Analyst to join their iGrid program. This role is pivotal in validating systems driven by workflows, testing business process automations, and ensuring workflow settings match business needs accurately. The position requires hybrid work with three days onsite in Charlotte, NC, provided under a W-2 employment structure.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, validate, and test applications that operate based on workflows to verify alignment with documented business process requirements and system functionality.
• Create and conduct manual test scenarios, capture outcomes, and identify any defects during the testing stages.
• Conduct root cause analysis on application issues to distinguish whether problems originate from configuration, data input, business processes, or defects within the system.
• Examine workflow behavior patterns, system logs, and related data to support conclusions and suggest practical solutions.
• Collaborate closely with business and technical teams to clarify requirements, resolve queries, and bolster workflow improvements.
• Document test outcomes clearly, report findings effectively, and participate in continual process enhancement initiatives for the iGrid program.

Candidate Experience and Skills

• Hands-on experience configuring PowerClerk or related workflow-based platforms with knowledge of workflow automation and rule logic.
• Alternatively, experience in developing software guided by workflow processes.
• Capability to interpret and validate workflows in reference to written business requirements.
• Proficiency in designing and running tests aligned with business processes and requirements.
• Strong manual testing expertise within workflow-driven environments.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on root cause determination beyond merely identifying failures.
• Ability to differentiate between configuration faults, data problems, expected system behaviors, and actual defects.
• Competence in analyzing system logs and behavioral data to support findings comprehensively.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
• Experience providing evidence-backed insights and analyses relevant at the program level.
