About the Role
Join the product team at Chubb Life Insurance New Zealand, where product management is a pivotal function combining strategic planning with customer engagement, shaping the company’s business roadmap. Reporting directly to the Head of Product and Pricing, you'll collaborate closely with a specialized team of product managers and actuaries who provide technical expertise, enabling you to take full ownership of products from concept to market launch and beyond.
This role offers a unique opportunity to challenge traditional norms within the insurance sector by introducing innovative ideas and questioning established practices. It's a leading role where you directly influence product direction rather than merely supporting it.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and steer the product roadmap, setting strategic directions rather than following established plans.
- Monitor and analyze product performance, conducting regular reviews supported by data-driven insights.
- Create compelling business cases for product changes, advocate for prioritization, and manage the change process.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with various stakeholders including Legal & Risk, Growth, IT, senior leadership, and actuarial teams.
- Ensure all products comply with relevant governance and regulatory requirements before release.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum three years of product management experience in financial services; comprehensive insurance sector knowledge is not mandatory due to in-house actuarial support.
- Sound commercial acumen with an understanding of how products generate revenue and what factors influence their success.
- Experience managing the complete product lifecycle from ideation through to launch.
- Strong analytical abilities to dissect performance metrics, market trends, and financial models, enabling clear and actionable recommendations.
- Proven capability to collaborate effectively across complex organizational structures involving Legal, Risk, Growth, IT, senior leaders, and actuarial departments.
- A proactive and inquisitive mindset focused on continuous improvement rather than routine execution.
