Role Overview
We are seeking a Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for Singapore to join our global, dynamic compliance team. The role involves overseeing and enhancing the company’s AML/CFT compliance program, ensuring regulatory adherence and effective management of financial crime risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist MLRO in managing and improving AML/CFT programs.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and maintain essential regulatory documents such as the Key Regulatory Obligations Register, compliance policies, and AML/CFT frameworks.
- Provide advisory on compliance and AML/CFT matters related to new products, business models, and use cases.
- Enhance compliance operations through automation, technology, and machine learning solutions.
- Oversee Client Due Diligence processes, including client profiling, risk rating, name screening, and document verification, ensuring timely issue resolution.
- Execute periodic, trigger-based, and ad hoc AML reviews to detect and escalate elevated risk factors and adverse news.
- Manage and resolve transaction monitoring and name-screening alerts promptly.
- Prepare and submit Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) as required.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) for regulatory and AML/CFT obligations.
- Generate compliance reports for senior management and Compliance Committees.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 8 years of experience in compliance roles within regulated settings.
- Expertise in Compliance and AML/CFT domains, including KYC/KYB, sanctions, and financial crime prevention.
- Strong knowledge of the Payments and Fintech industry; prior payments or fintech experience is highly desirable.
- Certifications such as ACAMS and/or ICA are preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of designing scalable solutions.
- Demonstrated accountability, sound judgment, and a proactive, positive mindset.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies, challenge established practices, and implement lasting process improvements.
- Proven capability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines within a fast-moving environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and awareness of evolving global regulatory changes.
- Fluency in English.
