Job Summary
The PMO Operations Supervisor will run the daily activities of the Project Management Office, making sure work is delivered efficiently, governed properly, and aligned with organizational goals. This position is responsible for guiding operational routines, reviewing team output, supporting project execution, and improving processes on an ongoing basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the PMO’s day-to-day operations, workflows, and team output.
- Review productivity levels and ensure project and operational deliverables are completed on schedule.
- Enforce PMO governance requirements, operating procedures, standards, and project management methods.
- Measure operational and project KPIs, build dashboard reports, and share regular updates with management.
- Work closely with project managers, department leaders, and other internal teams to keep projects and operations moving smoothly.
- Track schedules, risks, issues, budgets, and resource usage to help projects stay on course.
- Spot process delays, operational problems, and project risks, and put corrective or preventive actions in place.
- Escalate serious issues, risks, and constraints to management when needed.
- Assist with resource planning, workload distribution, and capacity management across the PMO.
- Hold routine operational reviews, project progress meetings, and follow-up discussions to maintain momentum.
- Keep PMO documents, templates, project files, and knowledge resources current and organized.
- Help build, standardize, and continuously enhance PMO processes and best practices.
- Support quality assurance efforts, governance reviews, and compliance audits.
- Coach, train, and support PMO coordinators and other operational team members to improve capability and performance.
- Encourage collaboration across departments to strengthen operational efficiency and project delivery.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, Information Systems, or a similar discipline is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in PMO operations, project coordination, project management, or operational supervision is required.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or team leadership role is preferred.
