Job description
Position Overview
Located in the coalfield regions around Moranbah, Mackay, and Emerald in Queensland, this full-time role offers a competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $150,000 annually, paid weekly alongside additional allowances. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are either qualified Fire Suppression Technicians or those wishing to begin a career in fire safety and protection within the mining industry.
Role Responsibilities
- Service and maintain a variety of fire protection equipment and systems across client sites in the Central Queensland Coalfields region.
- Survey customer machinery to recommend appropriate fire protection and safety solutions.
- Identify, service, and repair fire protection and safety systems adhering to company and regulatory guidelines.
- Complete and submit detailed reports addressing work progress, productivity metrics, and compliance indicators.
- Ensure all service activities meet quality, environmental health and safety, ethical, and trade practice standards.
- Manage resources efficiently and proactively troubleshoot to address problems.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in fire suppression systems or relevant trade background with mechanical aptitude.
- Willingness to undergo in-house nationally recognised training and certification, including VOC and RTO qualifications.
- Ability to work on rotating shifts including 7 days on/7 days off, or 4 days on/3 days off rosters.
- Familiarity with Australian Standard AS5062 is advantageous but not mandatory for newcomers.
- Possession of technical or engineering skills relevant to fire protection or related occupational fields.
- Mechanical experience and possession of Certificate II in Fire Protection or QBCC Licence will be beneficial.
- Valid current driver’s license required.
