Role Overview
The Payroll Specialist is entrusted with handling payroll processes accurately and confidentially across the organization. This role ensures adherence to tax regulations, maintains accurate payroll records, manages employee payroll queries, and contributes to timely and precise payroll reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and audit data related to new hires and departures to maintain payroll accuracy.
- Update payroll information for employees, including tax status and direct deposit modifications.
- Address employee questions regarding payroll and calculate remuneration for contract staff.
- Process off-cycle payments such as retroactive raises and final settlements.
- Administer involuntary payroll deductions, including wage levies and garnishments.
- Manage employment verification requests.
- Timely preparation and submission of union and certified payroll reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to payroll.
- Perform additional payroll-related tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Experience using payroll software; DayForce experience is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state payroll, wage, and tax laws.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and prioritizing tasks.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive payroll information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four to six years of relevant payroll experience required.

Compensation
The salary range offered is between $75,000 and $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience. The role qualifies for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
