This new role will serve as the lead Accounting and Finance leader overseeing these emerging business lines, emphasizing operational efficiency, financial performance, optimized workflows, and scalable processes.
Position Summary
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing multi-state payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. The candidate must collaborate effectively with associates, managers, and stakeholders, resolve payroll discrepancies, and contribute to the payroll team's overall success. This position requires a self-starter with strong judgment, problem-solving abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years experience processing multi-state payrolls
- Proficiency with Workday payroll software is mandatory
- Strong computer skills, adept at data entry and time management
- Ability to exercise discretion and sound decision-making
- Capable of working independently with limited supervision
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately calculate wages and overtime payments
- Audit and review timekeeping records to ensure compliance with standards
- Manage manual check processing and off-cycle payroll runs
- Conduct thorough payroll audits to guarantee precision
- Communicate promptly and effectively with team members and stakeholders
- Investigate and resolve employee payroll inquiries and discrepancies
- Maintain a strong sense of urgency in all payroll-related duties
- Diligently collect and analyze information to address payroll issues
- Show a readiness to undertake additional responsibilities within the payroll department
