About the Role
Join His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service at HMP Bullingdon as an Operational Support Grade, where you'll contribute to the smooth and secure operation of the prison. This role is integral to daily operations, encompassing diverse tasks such as security checks at entry points, handling deliveries, managing visitor supervision, monitoring telecommunication and CCTV systems, and occasional physical responsibilities like escorting vehicles across the facility.
Responsibilities
- Conduct security and searches at the prison entrance.
- Manage and coordinate deliveries within the prison grounds.
- Supervise visitors to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Oversee telephone calls and CCTV monitoring to maintain security.
- Carry out physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles.
Candidate Profile
Applicants do not need formal qualifications but should possess strong communication skills and remain calm under pressure. Good judgment, common sense, and teamwork are essential. The role involves working various shifts including nights and weekends.
Additional Requirements
- Must hold a full, valid UK driving licence with D1 vehicle category entitlement, permitting the driving of vehicles with up to 16 passenger seats, maximum 8 meters in length, and trailers up to 750kg.
- Own transport is advantageous due to the rural location and limited public transport to the establishment.
- Shift start and finish times are fixed; punctuality is critical.
