About Bechtel and Project Overview

The Jubail project in Saudi Arabia, among Bechtel's most ambitious civil engineering undertakings, involves extensive planning and management of local contractors for a wide range of construction and development efforts in Jubail and Ras Al-Khair Industrial Cities.
Role Summary
The Operational Risk Manager is responsible for overseeing all risk-related activities at the Jubail compounds and maintaining effective coordination with the Royal Commission Security. This position requires full-time onsite work and is designated as single status.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise risk management activities directly related to the project and jobsite operations.
- Provide regular updates to management about major achievements, issues, and concerns.
- Establish and nurture professional relationships with law enforcement, security, and operational risk agencies for timely threat intelligence and safety advice.
- Develop and implement risk awareness and training programs to ensure employees and their families remain safe across workplace and residential environments.
- Manage specialized training programs for gate house personnel.
- Evaluate team member performance and recommend personnel and salary decisions.
- Execute additional tasks as assigned by supervisors and corporate risk leaders.
Requirements
- Possess a degree or diploma with 10-13 years of relevant experience, or alternatively 14-17 years of pertinent occupational history.
- Previous experience in security, risk management, military service, or similar fields.
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Leadership skills with the ability to make autonomous decisions and solve problems effectively.
- Experience working within culturally diverse environments with respect for differences.
- Focused on achieving solutions and measurable results.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Practical knowledge of Bechtel’s Operational Risk framework and procedures.
- Expertise in conducting threat assessments and updating evacuation plans.
- Ability to draft and maintain operational risk policies and procedures.
- Effective liaison skills with external security agencies.
- Experience delivering briefings and presentations.
- Familiarity with industry best practices in security and risk management.
- Operational knowledge of CCTV and alarm systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Adeptness in handling challenging interpersonal situations with diplomacy.
- Capability to make critical, timely decisions and engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Hands-on, solution-oriented and committed to delivery excellence.
