NOC Engineer

Overview

We have an opening for a NOC Engineer position based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with our client. This is a full-time, permanent role focused on network operations center duties, particularly relating to telecom and satellite network monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Constant monitoring of signaling pathways, routing mechanisms, SIM card flows, OSS integrations, and cross-core interactions that impact satellite services.

Qualifications & Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electronics, or similar technical disciplines is required.
• Relevant networking certifications like CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or JNCIS, or those related to telecom operations are a plus.
• Professional experience of 2 to 5 years performing NOC operations, telecom network monitoring, satellite communications support, or core network assistance.
• Practical knowledge working with signaling flows, routing tables, authentication protocols, and mobile core network elements.
• Experience handling multi-vendor network operations centers, incident management workflows, and escalation procedures with partners.

Technical Expertise

• Strong grasp of signaling protocols such as Diameter, SIP, NAS, and routing fundamentals related to telecom core networks.
• Understanding of telecom connectivity processes including SIM activation, attach procedures, mobility management, and authentication flows.
• Skilled in analyzing logs, trace files, routing tables, and correlating events across various network elements.
• Familiarity with OSS and NMS tools, alarm systems, KPIs, dashboards, and monitoring solutions.
• Basic knowledge of satellite network components, gateway systems, and hybrid radio access network to core network interactions is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems, basic scripting languages such as Python or Bash, and network troubleshooting utilities.

Technology Proficiencies

• Familiarity with NOC and OSS/NMS monitoring platforms like Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or SolarWinds.
• Experience using logging and analytics tools such as Elastic, Splunk, Kibana, and packet analyzers like Wireshark.
• Knowledge of ticketing and ITSM platforms including ServiceNow, Jira, and Remedy.
• Basic automation and scripting capabilities with Python and Bash.
• Proficiency in Excel and dashboard/documentation tools for effective reporting and tracking.
