Role Overview

The Mediator at the Tripartite Alliance for Dispute Management (TADM) within National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) in Jurong East is tasked with comprehensive case management, providing expert advisory and mediation services to resolve workplace conflicts and employment disputes. This role demands thorough case documentation, coordination with key stakeholders, and support for members facing employability challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Retrieve, evaluate, and manage cases using the Case Relationship Management System (CRM), delivering timely assistance and guidance.
  • Offer advisory support on workplace disputes to members at TADM, representing their interests effectively.
  • Facilitate dispute resolution between members and companies via mediation processes.
  • Manage cases from initial advisory stages through to agreed settlements efficiently.
  • Maintain precise and prompt documentation of all case activities.
  • Work in partnership with relevant bodies to assist members requiring employment placement.
  • Deliver efficient counter services in line with assigned duty rosters, actively promoting member retention.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to operational processes and standard operating procedures to boost TADM’s effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with tripartite agencies and unions on case management and provide mentoring to junior case officers.
  • Engage in labour movement policy dialogues to advocate for workers’ rights and analyze related data and trends.
  • Conduct case sharing and knowledge exchange initiatives within the labour movement community.
  • Undertake additional duties and ad hoc projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Possess between 5 to 10 years of professional experience in human resources or industrial relations.
  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities and work collaboratively within team environments.
  • Strong understanding and application of employment laws relevant to grievance handling.
  • Proficient in using various IT systems for effective case resolution.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills adaptable to working with employees, management, and partner organizations.
  • Highly independent with solid analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Displays strong perseverance, initiative, and commitment to going beyond expectations for member support.
