About the Role

Join Aveo's supportive team where building genuine connections and fostering a sense of belonging take center stage. At Cleveland Heights Retirement Living, a premium bayside community, you'll contribute to creating a safe, inviting, and visually attractive environment for senior residents. This position involves daily gardening and general grounds upkeep, working hands-on while engaging positively with the community. It's a full-time role based Monday to Friday from 7am to 3pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of gardening and grounds maintenance duties including mowing, pruning, hedging, mulching, and managing green waste.
  • Ensure communal outdoor spaces remain safe, well-kept, and appealing through regular care.
  • Maintain and conduct routine inspections of irrigation systems and external sprinklers.
  • Work independently to manage scheduled gardening tasks and respond flexibly to daily maintenance needs.
  • Build positive relationships with residents through friendly engagement during daily activities.
  • Adapt to handle both planned maintenance and unforeseen gardening tasks as they arise.

Candidate Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience and skill in gardening or grounds maintenance with a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
  • A proactive mindset focused on identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving maintenance concerns.
  • Effective communication capabilities to clearly explain maintenance activities to residents in a courteous manner.
  • Positive demeanor with a sense of pride in maintaining the environment.
  • Valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Proof of having received at least two COVID-19 vaccinations.
