Overview
Amazon's operations network delivers millions of packages daily through a system known for its speed and reliability. To protect this network, Amazon seeks detail-oriented Loss Prevention Experts to provide security services across its supply chain, safeguarding employees and preventing losses.
Key Responsibilities
- Support operational resilience by aiding in emergency and crisis planning for assigned sites.
- Identify vulnerabilities such as loss risks, associate experience issues, and process inefficiencies; develop appropriate mitigation strategies ensuring legal and ethical compliance.
- Act as liaison with local management and external stakeholders, including law enforcement and industry groups, on all security matters.
- Ensure sites comply with Amazon's global security standards.
- Lead security and loss prevention projects at local, regional, and national levels.
Typical Duties
Conduct routine physical security inspections and investigate security violations and loss incidents. Gather information through monitoring systems, analyzing data, and interviewing relevant individuals. Use findings to identify process weaknesses and implement corrective measures. Maintain and audit physical security infrastructure and collaborate with experts and vendors to ensure system functionality. Manage security service providers to guarantee quality security services. Deliver security and loss prevention training and oversee the execution of security plans.
Team Environment
Part of the Global Security Operations group, the team safeguards Amazon's business goals and reputation by managing risks that could harm employees, disrupt operations, damage assets, or tarnish the brand. They work proactively to prevent incidents and respond swiftly to minimize impact.
Qualifications
- Professional background in security services, asset protection, loss prevention, risk management, inventory management, investigations, supply chain, auditing, or compliance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Fluent German language skills in speaking, reading, and writing.
- Competence in business-level English, both verbal and written.
- Valid and active driver's license.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
Preferred Skills
- Advanced degrees such as a master's in technical disciplines.
- Experience applying physical security best practices including security systems management, investigative procedures, and overseeing contract security personnel.
- Background in distribution centers, logistics, or manufacturing settings.
- Familiarity with data analysis and utilization.
