Logistics Officer

Position Overview

We are seeking a thorough and proactive Logistics Officer to manage customs documentation, clearance procedures, and regulatory compliance for import and export shipments within the UAE and GCC regions. This role is vital to ensuring smooth shipment processing, strict adherence to trade laws, and enhanced client satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities

• Prepare, check, and submit precise customs paperwork including invoices, air waybills, packing lists, and HS codes as per UAE customs and international standards.
• Utilize JDL and other customs platforms to handle documentation while complying with UAE, GCC, and global trade laws, including regulations for bonded zones and exemptions.
• Manage clearance for air, sea, and land shipments such as FCL, LCL, break bulk, B2B, and B2C by coordinating with customs authorities, free zones like JAFZA, and mainland entities.
• Calculate, process, and ensure timely payment of customs duties and taxes, maintaining accurate financial reconciliations.
• Create invoices for duties, taxes, and clearance fees; collaborate with finance teams to resolve disputes and facilitate collections.
• Serve as primary client contact for customs-related procedures, duty obligations, and shipment updates through liaison with officials, freight forwarders, and vendors.
• Oversee shipment tracking from ports to warehouses, coordinate GCC cross-border logistics, and manage truck allocations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated logistics experience in customs clearance and trade compliance within the UAE context.
• Deep understanding of UAE customs regulations, GCC trade legislation, and classification of HS codes.
• Proficiency with JDL and other customs billing or documentation software.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to perform efficiently under pressure and manage multiple shipments concurrently.
